What I do
used to be a complex question for me, and it still can be. But put simply, it
is a kind of record of my movement through the world, even if it’s only as far
as my back garden. I look atthings that
I find curious, interesting, coincidental and wonderful. I find myself taking
risks and flirting with failure. Intuition is becoming increasingly central to
my process of making and exhibiting. I demand experimentation, exploration and
honesty because I am searching for things to make some kind of sense. I also
find myself wanting to rejuvenate the notion of the imaginary and feel drawn to
the quiet moments in the world that are not always tangible. This is a
subjective stance I suppose. Nonetheless I am always concerned with those
watching and enjoy the nuances that audiences bring to my work.
